VETERANS AND MILITARY COALITION OF THE OZARKS
The Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks annually awards scholarships to Veterans, military and family members (Service member, spouse and children). The Coalition will be awarding several scholarships in 2019. The scholarship program follows directly from the Coalitions goals which are:
Ensuring that veterans, military service members, and their families can access the full range of benefits and services available to them.
Fighting for the interests of America’s veterans, military heroes, and their families.
Educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans, military service, and their families.
Ensuring programs and services are provided to directly support uniformed service
members and veterans of all ranks, their families, and their survivors.

The Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks announces its 2019 Scholarship Program competition.
Applications will be accepted from candidates who are pursuing or about to pursue higher-level education in two or four year institutions or in accredited technical institutions (trade/specialty degrees).
Applications will not be rated solely on academic standing. Consideration for selection will also
include extracurricular activities such as the following:
Community activities and/or involvement;
High school organizations and/or activities
Other self-development skills
Abilities obtained through on-the-job training/experiences or correspondence courses
Applicant must have served, or be an immediate family member of those who are serving or who have served honorably, with any component of the U.S. Armed Forces. Members of the Junior Division or Senior Division of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) are eligible. Applicants must be permanent local residents of the Coalition area of service (generally a 40-mile radius of Branson, MO, including southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas).
General qualifications will be measured and selections based upon the following:
1. The completed application (enclosure 2)
2. Two current letters of recommendation (cannot be from relatives)
3. Transcripts of grades from your current school or latest school attended.
4. Submission of proof of qualified honorable service in any U.S. Uniformed Service (DD214 or similar official document issued by the government).
Applications for consideration must be postmarked no later than 15 February 2019. Notification of Award will be made by 30 March 2019. If you wish to be advised of the final status of your application, please provide your e-mail address, or a self-stamped envelope if you do not have e-mail.
